NextGen 'Industry Trends' Demonstration Home Only One of Its Kind at the World's Largest Industry Kitchen & Bath Show

NextGen 'Industry Trends' Demonstration Home Only One of Its Kind at the World's Largest Industry Kitchen & Bath Show

LAS VEGAS, May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- From May 8 -10, more than 40,000 visitors to the annual Kitchen and Bath Industry Show & Conference (K/BIS) -- the world's largest international trade event dedicated to the kitchen and bath industry -- will be invited to venture beyond the typical show booth and into a completely finished home built right on the show floor of the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The only show home of its kind at K/BIS, the NextGen "Industry Trends" Home Experience (http://www.nextgenhome.com/) will be part of the NKBA's (National Kitchen and Bath Association) Industry Trends Marketplace. The home will incorporate the latest industry trends, demonstrate some of the coolest digital lifestyle components on the market today, and elevate the art of outdoor living to new heights.

The NextGen "Industry Trends" home is a perfect fit with the theme for this year's KBIS -- explore. experience. evolve -- as it allows both national and international professionals to not just learn about the market's hottest offerings, but see, touch and experience them all for themselves, working together inside a finished home.

Just a few highlights of the home include:

Industry Trends -- The "great room concept of flowing the kitchen, dining and living rooms together is on display in this home, as is the presently popular "furniture look" in the kitchen. Cabinetry in both the kitchen and two baths utilize a native wood, White Poplar, stained to take on the look of Wenge, an exotic African wood species. "The kitchen has a really clean, contemporary look -- which is popular right now," says Peter Raja, president of Canadian-based Norelco Cabinets. The latest offerings from worldwide leader, Kohler(R), including tubs, toilets and faucetry will also be on display, as will the hottest solid surface offerings from DuPont that offer the popular look of natural stone without the upkeep.

Digital Lifestyle -- According to the Consumer Electronics Association, Americans will spend billions on electronics in 2007 alone. The NextGen "Industry Trends" home will feature some amazing new technologies, including a one-touch refreshment dispenser that automatically reorders beverages when it's running low and a mirror that gently illuminates for nighttime bathroom visits. The biggest highlight, however, will be the remote and touch panels throughout the home by Exceptional Innovation. Boasting an award-winning software, the panels put almost every aspect of the home within easy reach -- from music and movies, to security and lighting, to setting the timer on the kitchen stove, to accessing the Internet.

Outdoor Living -- Outdoor living continues to grow in popularity, and not just in the sunbelt states. As more and more homebuyers identify outdoor living spaces as a way of increasing the living area in their home at a substantially lower cost than adding an extra room, the options continue to expand. In this home industry professionals will find everything from the hottest stone hearth oven and grill islands to the coolest pavers made from recycled tire rubber that offer a lighter, more resilient alternative to cement pavers in a wide array of hues.

The home is a project of iShow.com, producers of the NextGen Home Experience. During large trade shows like the annual Consumer Electronics Show and International Builders Show, full sized homes are constructed to allow consumers and Industry professionals the chance to not only learn about the latest and greatest innovations, but experience all of the technologies as they are meant to be experienced, as components that work seamlessly together in a finished home -- a NextGen home.

"We are pleased that the NextGen Home Experience was selected by the NKBA to showcase the latest trends in kitchen and bath design at this year's K/BIS show," notes Paul Barnett, president of iShow.
