Construction Writers Association Calls for Journalism Award and Photography Award Entries

The association annually presents five CWA Journalism Awards:

* The T. Randolph Russell Award for newsletters. Entries may be a single newsletter or a series of related issues covering a single topic.

* The Kneeland "Ned" Godfrey Award for a body of work. The author is recognized for superior journalistic and writing skills over the course of a year.

* The Robert F. Boger Award for a single article or a series of subject- related articles in one of three categories.

1. Feature articles on current subjects of general significance to the construction industry and, in particular, to the publication's readers.

2. Special reports that demonstrate the writer or editor's analytical and interpretive skills on a subject of particular interest to the publication's readers.

3. Editorials written by a member of the publication's staff. The pieces will reflect the editorial policy of the publication and its role in the construction industry.

Original publication tear-sheets will be mailed to the awards committee for judging. The committee also requests that pdfs of the entry be emailed to the awards chair, Rolf Fuessler of Fuessler Group, Boston, MA.

CWA's journalism and photography awards are awarded to individuals, not to the publications in which their work appears. CWA requires an entry fee of $75 for the first entry and $25 for each additional entry in each contest. Only CWA members in good standing at the time of entry are eligible; however, entrants may join the association at the time they send their entry. The individual membership fee is $100.

For details on how to enter, visit the "awards" section of the association's website at http://www.constructionwriters.org/ or call the CWA office at 847-398-7756 for a brochure and application.
