WETHERSFIELD, Conn., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Qualtech Systems, Inc. (QSI), a recognized leader in advanced diagnostics and system health management software solutions, today announced that it has just completed an outstanding year in 2007 and is well positioned to continue its rapid growth and expansion into new markets in 2008. QSI's success in developing diagnostic software solutions that are proven, mature and highly sought after by commercial enterprises has resulted in the company's decision to transition its business mix from consulting and engineering services to software products. This decision has further fueled the company's significant growth in revenue and new product sales.
According to QSI's President and Chief Technology Officer, Somnath Deb, Ph.D., "2007 was a breakthrough year for Qualtech. Over the years, we have developed some great products and technology working with NASA and the aerospace industry, but last year we finally turned our attention to sales and marketing. The results speak for themselves -- 30% growth in revenue, powered by new product sales to NASA (site licenses), Lockheed Martin (LM), Honeywell (HON), BAE, NUWC and GM -- to name a few. From rockets and spacecraft (Aries and Orion) to manufacturing of high-tech equipment (semiconductor OEMs) to transportation (cars, buses and submarines) -- wherever downtime costs money -- we have found new customers."
Originally founded as a research company dedicated to offering consulting and engineering services to NASA, aerospace companies and the military, QSI began to develop diagnostic software as part of each project. Its diagnostic toolset, a suite of software known as TEAMS(TM), is now an integral part of NASA's Project Constellation. Project Constellation's ultimate objective is to establish an outpost on the Moon and lay the foundation for future explorations of Mars and beyond by the middle of the 21st century.
After collaborating with NASA on Project Constellation, QSI enhanced its software capabilities and adapted its products for the business and technical requirements of large-scale commercial operations. The TEAMS software is effective in a wide variety of industries, including transportation systems, medical equipment, factory and industrial systems, telecommunications, computer systems, and refinery (oil and gas) systems. The company found that it could customize solutions for customers and implement them into existing infrastructures and workflow, enabling every technician to perform to the same high standard while maximizing the customer's return on investment. The software Qualtech produces is now becoming highly sought after by major companies and is an integral part of critical, innovative projects that receive international attention. Some of the companies that utilize Qualtech software include Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, BAE and General Motors.
Dr. Deb continued, "We all know computers can now beat Grand Masters in Chess, yet our biggest challenge is convincing our potential customers that with our software, every technician can perform like an expert. The irony is, in independent tests, technicians guided by our solution actually outperformed experts by a wide margin. We fully expect our growth and success to continue in 2008 and beyond."
