Me.dium Announces Online Festival: Me.Fest

BOULDER, Colo., Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Me.dium, a social browsing software company, today announced its first annual Me.Fest online festival, a host of events from November 26th through December 2nd that allow users and celebrities to surf together in real time. Me.dium has invited industry leaders from music, sports, politics, lifestyle and Internet TV to join users in discussions and lead fan-focused tours around the Internet.

"Coming off the success of events like RockMe., Me.Fest let's Me.dium extend the real-time, online venue concept to a variety of other genres," said David Mandell, co-founder and vice president of marketing for Me.dium. "We're hosting Me.Fest as a platform for our users to connect with industry experts and special guests on a more personalized level than has ever been available before online."

As part of the festivities, Me.dium is conducting a "What Is Me.dium?" video contest. Participants will submit homemade videos that creatively express how they use Me.dium and how it has changed their online experience. Users will vote for the finalists and winners will be selected by a Me.dium judging panel. The top five videos will win prizes ranging from a 13" MacBook laptop computer to the new iPod Touch.

In addition, Matt Browner Hamlin, the official blogger for Presidential candidate Chris Dodd, will be leading a discussion on the upcoming election. Hamlin will manage a dialogue focusing on the important issues of the coming year, including domestic wiretapping and our personal freedom, all while sharing his favorite political sites, blogs and resources available online. Through this chat session, Me.dium provides candidates with the opportunity to share their views and opinions with voters in real time, while having the entire Internet at their disposal to defend or refute their positions.

    Additional events and activities throughout the week include:
    -- RockMe. Sessions - Me.dium's popular music series will be held
       throughout the week, with bands and music industry gurus leading
       discussions, sharing new music, favorite sites and answering fan
       questions.
    -- Mom's Minute - Bloggers from the Web site Posh Mamas will lead
       discussions focusing on advice for the holidays including
       recommendations on shopping for loved ones, hosting the extended
       family, fun holiday events and more.
    -- Internet Video - Me.dium will be holding live viewing sessions of the
       popular Internet TV shows Tiki Bar TV and Feed Me Bubbe.  Viewers will
       be able to watch the shows with members of the cast and other fans to
       discuss the new episodes during the airing.
