Teseq's New Impedance Stabilization Network Measures Up To 4 Pairs of Unshielded Balanced Cables

EDISON, N.J., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Teseq, Inc., a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and test systems for EMC emission and immunity, has introduced a new CISPR 22-based impedance stabilization network (ISN) that measures conducted common mode disturbances on up to four unshielded single balanced pairs of cables within equipment under test (EUT). Teseq's new ISN T8 coupling/decoupling network is ideal for use in applications employing up to 1000BaseT operation and Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Located between the EUT and the auxiliary equipment (AE) or load necessary for the operation of the EUT, the ISN T8 establishes the EUT's common mode termination impedance during electromagnetic interference (EMI) measurement to provide a stable and repeatable reference condition for emissions measurements.

The ISN T8 consists of one basic network (ISN T800) with D-Sub-25 connectors and longitudinal conversion loss (LCL) adapter sets for Cat. 3 and Cat. 5 cables that include connectors for both the EUT and AE.

Teseq also offers pre-wired RJ11 and RJ45 adapter sets, the ADS T800 and ADS T8x0, for most common pin configurations as well as for customizable adapter sets that can be wired for any pin configuration. The ADS T800 adapter set enables connection to RJ45 sockets with pin arrangements of TIA/EIA-568-B (supercedes TIA/EIA-568-A). The ADS T8x0 offers changeable pin-arrangements via 1 mm banana connectors for every possible pin combination of RJ11 and RJ45 connectors. Each adapter set is comprised of two pieces, one for the EUT connection and one for the AE-side.

The ISN T8 features a frequency range of 150 kHz to 30 MHz, maximum line- to-ground voltages of 63 VAC and 100 VDC and maximum current ratings of 400 mA per line and 800 mA per pair. In addition, the ISN T8 offers a phase angle of 0 degrees +/- 20 degrees as well as a coupling path connection impedance of 50 Omega and an RF voltage of up to 15 V. With adapters, the ISN T8 measures 4.1" x 2.5" x 7.5" and weighs approximately 1 lb 3 oz.

The ISN T8 is defined in figure D.3 of CISPR 22, Ed.5.2, 2006 and EN 55022 Sept. 2006 (IEC/CISPR 22: 2005 modified).
