Comics for a Cause: Northwest Comedians to Host Flood Disaster Benefit Show at Lucky Eagle Casino

ROCHESTER, Wash., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- After seeing the extent of the damage caused by the recent flooding in southwest Washington, four popular area comedians -- Mike Wally Walter, Susan Rice, Art Klug and Gabriel Rutledge -- decided to put on a benefit show to aid flood victims. They contacted the Chehalis Tribes' Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, where the idea was met with enthusiastic support. The show is now scheduled to take place in the casino event center Dec. 29 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20, and all gate receipts and additional donations will be distributed to Red Cross organizations in Lewis, Thurston and Grays Harbor counties.

Mike Walter, who put the group together, talked about the community spirit behind the benefit. "I live in this area and these people are my neighbors," he said. "They need help and I want to do whatever I can."

The Flood Relief Comedy Show is in addition to the Chehalis Tribes' Flood Disaster Relief effort launched in the days immediately following the heavy December rains. Lucky Eagle Casino staff and volunteers are currently collecting donations of nonperishable food items, clothing, cash and gift cards in the Lucky Eagle Casino parking lot. Collections will continue through December 24th.

Lucky Eagle Casino is located at 12888 188th Avenue Southwest in Rochester, Washington. (Exit 88 or 88-B from I-5, west on Highway 12 to Anderson Road). The general public is encouraged to call toll free 1 (800) 720-1788 for more information, and to visit the casino's web site at http://www.luckyeagle.com.
