NEW YORK, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Do you think you know what the next BIG thing will be next year, and want to make money while explaining it to the world? To kick off New York's Internet Week 2008, Associated Content (http://www.associatedcontent.com), the Internet's leading open content platform to pay contributors cash for quality content, will host its biggest Call for Content(TM) yet.
On Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 9 a.m. ET, interested participants can log online to AssociatedContent.com to enter Associated Content's Ultimate Call for Content(TM) at http://www.associatedcontent.com/internetweek. Through the company's unique Call for Content(TM) system, any registered contributor can get the assignment, claim the call, publish their content on the topic of "What's Next?" for the next year, and then be considered to win a $5,000 cash prize for the best contribution.
Registered contributors can pick virtually any topic or subject they have enthusiasm or expertise in (from gadgets to gardening). The assignment will be to project ahead to next year, and explain in a text article, video or audio clip why that topic will be relevant to online consumers who search for content related to whatever their interests might be. It can be a person, a destination, an event, a technology, a trend, even a "how-to" -- any unique topic they think will break through with people in a new way in the next year.
Deadline for entries is midnight. An expert panel of judges, including Rachel Sklar (Media & "Eat The Press" Editor for the Huffington Post) and Omar Wasow (technology analyst and co-founder of Blackplanet.com), will judge the selected finalists and announce a winner on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, the final day of Internet Week. The winning entry will win a $5,000 cash prize from Associated Content. Every qualifying entry will be published on AssociatedContent.com and be eligible for cash "performance payments."
