MuseStorm Announces Gadget Based on New OpenSocial APIs

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- MuseStorm, an innovator in syndicating rich media content, announced today they showcased a gadget as part of the launch of OpenSocial, a new programming model developed by Google. OpenSocial is a set of common APIs for building social applications across the web. Soon the MuseStorm Content Engagement Platform will allow users to create OpenSocial gadgets that can be leveraged across multiple distribution channels including desktop applications, the web, and Facebook.

For the launch of OpenSocial, MuseStorm worked with Universal Music Enterprises to port the Jimi Hendrix widget launched to the web in early October to the OpenSocial format, the results of which were unveiled today.

"Working with MuseStorm allowed us to rapidly take advantage of new social networking capabilities in the market," said Heather Whitten, Associate Director, New Media Universal Music Enterprises. "Thanks to our relationship with MuseStorm, we saved significant development time and costs and now we're one of the first companies leveraging OpenSocial -- allowing us a unique opportunity to build a relationship with our consumers."

The MuseStorm Content Engagement Platform is an end-to-end solution for content and widget syndication. By handling everything from widget and application creation, to distribution, analytics and monetization, the service frees users to focus on creating the content and messages that will resonate with their users. The tightly integrated platform modules provide unique benefits such as detailed interaction metrics and flexible options for advertising integration.

"We developed MuseStorm to empower our users to reach their audience in the way that's most compelling to them," said Ori Soen, CEO, MuseStorm. "MuseStorm is committed to support all popular distribution channels and formats and will continue to add support for new ones as they become available, and our work with OpenSocial is an example of that. With MuseStorm, users never have to worry that the widget they create today won't be usable when the next social network becomes popular or people start accessing content in a new way."
