nCircle Releases Unified Scanning Appliance for Agentless Network Discovery and Assessment

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- nCircle, the leading provider of agentless security risk and compliance management solutions, today announced that it has released the industry's first unified scanning appliance combining agentless configuration and vulnerability discovery. Effective security and compliance management requires comprehensive risk analysis that includes discovery and assessment of vulnerabilities, applications, network topology, and configurations. The new nCircle DP3000 appliance provides a unified platform for achieving such comprehensive discovery and assessment, ensuring a solid foundation for reducing security risk and ensuring compliance at the lowest possible cost.

nCircle's security risk and compliance management solutions are delivered on hardened appliances, enabling rapid deployment and providing a low total cost of ownership. Prior to the release of the unified nCircle DP3000 appliance, customers purchased separate appliances for configuration and vulnerability discovery. The new integrated appliance allows customers to benefit from both configuration and vulnerability scanning without requiring separate infrastructure. They can also start with just one service and later add the other while leveraging their current hardware investment. Customers benefit from improved IT security and compliance, while reducing their overall cost of management, deployment, upgrades and maintenance.

Additionally, most recently purchased nCircle appliances can be upgraded to the unified capabilities for a nominal fee.

"nCircle continues to integrate its security risk management and compliance solutions, providing ever greater value and functionality," said Tim Keanini, nCircle's Chief Technology Officer. "Our new unified DP3000 appliance is a unique innovation in the industry, and makes it even easier for our customers to reduce their network risk and ensure compliance."

nCircle's new DP3000 joins its full family of appliances in compliance with the RoHS and WEEE environmental directives. The RoHS directive requires the elimination of certain harmful substances, such as lead and mercury, from electronic equipment, while the WEEE directive is intended to reduce the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment through planned recycling. nCircle is committed to meeting or exceeding environmental standards in the manufacture of its products.
