Fry Inc. Announces Renewal of PCI Compliance

E-Commerce Provider Receives Highest Standard of Certification for Second Year

Fry Inc. Announces Renewal of PCI Compliance

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Fry, Inc., a leading e-commerce design, development and managed services provider, announced today that its Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance certification as a managed merchant hosting provider has been renewed. For the second year, Fry received the highest level of standard given by PCI. IBM Internet Security Systems (http://www.iss.net/) served as Fry's security advisor and performed the most recent audit for the certification.

"The security of online transactions has always been a critical aspect of the sites we develop," said David Fry, president and chief executive officer of Fry, Inc. "Our clients can be assured that Fry is able to meet the very rigorous standards established by the Payment Security Standards Council for payments handling and processing. That confidence is critical for both our merchant partners and their customers."

The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard is managed through the Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) and offers a single approach to safeguarding sensitive data for all card brands. Compliance is required of all merchants and service providers that store, process, or transmit Visa cardholder data and applies to all payment channels, including retail (brick-and-mortar), mail/telephone order, and e-commerce.

Fry was initially PCI certified in August 2006, making it the first e-commerce platform provider to receive certification.

"Fry was a pioneer in securing compliance as an e-commerce platform provider in 2006," Fry said. "Maintaining our PCI compliance is of vital importance to the managed services team at Fry."
