DYMO(R) Launches All-In-One Mailing Solution to Make Mailings Easier for Small Business

New Survey Finds Mailings Still Strong Communication Tool for Small Business

DYMO(R) Launches All-In-One Mailing Solution to Make Mailings Easier for Small Business

STAMFORD, Conn., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Small businesses looking for new ways to grow and be successful are continually challenged with how best to communicate with customers and potential customers. While email plays an important role, a new national survey of more than 300 small businesses found that 44 percent still send out more than ten large mailings (100 pieces or more) per year, and nearly 29 percent conduct more than 50 large mailings annually.

The survey, conducted by DYMO(R), an industry leader in on-demand labeling, also found that seven out of ten small businesses still send someone to the Post Office to purchase postage, and almost half (48 percent) say they guess the weight of their mail and thus the amount of postage required to mail it. According to the survey, one-third of small businesses report spending at least $1,000 on postage per year, and half of those -- one-sixth of small businesses -- spend more than $5,000 annually.

"These figures still don't account for the staff hours needed to travel to the Post Office to purchase the postage and then process the mailings," said Miguel Ortiz, marketing director at DYMO. "Obviously, mailings can be a big drain on small business budgets."

To help small business owners save time and money, DYMO is launching the DYMO Desktop Mailing Solution, a complete mailing system that allows users to print United States Postal Service-approved postage from the convenience of home or office. Included is everything users need -- even a postage scale -- to streamline the mailing process.

"Mailings can be a powerful tool for entrepreneurs," said Andrew Newmark, senior vice president of business development for DYMO. "But they can take time that busy people don't have."

DYMO Desktop Mailing Solution makes quick work of time-consuming mailing tasks, printing an address or shipping label in as few as two clicks, then precise postage in just a few seconds more.

"DYMO Desktop Mailing Solution minimizes the time it takes to get mailings out the door while eliminating the risk of over-stamping envelopes and packages," said Newmark. "Users go from document to delivered in just a few clicks."

How It Works: DYMO Stamps(TM) -- Precise Postage Now

At the core of DYMO Desktop Mailing Solution is DYMO Stamps(TM), the Internet postage service that eliminates unnecessary trips to the Post Office by letting users print postage from home or office. The DYMO Stamps(TM) software, powered by Endicia(R), a leading Internet Postage provider, prints U.S. postage for First-Class Mail(R), flat rate Priority Mail(R), First-Class Mail(R) International (1 oz.) and postcard mail pieces. Users simply sign up for an Endicia account via a link in the DYMO software installation CD. There are currently no monthly fees or long-term service commitments.

DYMO Stamps(TM) works exclusively with DYMO top-selling LabelWriter(R) printers and also features Address Fixer(TM) software, which checks any U.S. address against the USPS database to enable more accurate mail delivery. In the event of postage rate increases, DYMO Stamps(TM) software automatically updates itself to reflect the new rate.

DYMO(R) LabelWriter(R) Printer -- Fast Labels

The DYMO(R) LabelWriter(R) printer enables users to print address or shipping labels quickly and easily from nearly any document on a PC or Mac. The DYMO(R) LabelWriter(R) Twin Turbo prints up to 55 labels per minute (based on a four-line address label). DYMO(R) LabelWriter(R) printers are sleek, compact and super-fast. They print in more than 40 label styles and sizes, without sheet label hassle, and require no ink or toner. DYMO Stamps(TM) software is free -- included with any new LabelWriter 400 Turbo, Twin Turbo or Duo printer.
