Fry, Inc. Adds PayPal to Open Commerce Platform(TM)

ANN ARBOR, Mich., July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Fry, Inc., an e-commerce design, development and managed services provider, today announced that PayPal Express Checkout has been integrated as a payment option within Fry's Open Commerce Platform(TM) (OCP).

Open Commerce Platform is an e-commerce solution that enables retailers and manufacturers to quickly develop an online store and expand their e-commerce business. Fry clients utilizing the OCP framework include Ann Taylor, Whirlpool, Lumber Liquidators and The Swiss Colony.

PayPal Express Checkout is designed for merchants that already accept credit cards directly on their web sites. It allows consumers an easy way to pay when shopping online by eliminating the need to re-enter personal information and by not sharing financial information with the merchant. In addition, with over 143 million accounts worldwide, PayPal provides merchants access to a growing base of online shoppers.

"By integrating PayPal's Express Checkout with OCP, our clients can offer their customers a secure, convenient payment method that is an alternative to traditional credit card usage," said David Fry, president and CEO of Fry Inc. "This enhances transaction security and is another way for retailers to drive conversion and build customer loyalty."

"We are pleased to bring PayPal to major retailers utilizing Fry's Open Commerce Platform," said Gene Alston, business development director for PayPal. "By working together, we can provide merchants with the products and services they need to be successful and deliver on the needs of their customers."

The PayPal integration will provide retailers using Fry's OCP platform flexibility in presenting PayPal as a payment option. When the customer selects PayPal, they are re-directed to the PayPal site to log-in to their account, then after the payment is processed, they return to the retailer site for final order confirmation.
