John F. Kennedy's Inauguration Day Shirt Up for Auction

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagine the inauguration ceremonies surrounding our youngest ever newly-elected president. In the first of President John F. Kennedy's 1,000 days of "Camelot," he may have scarcely noticed a button had popped off his shirt on that historic day. You now have the opportunity to own that very shirt worn by President John F. Kennedy on the day of his inauguration, January 20, 1961. The shirt will be listed on eBay from June 5-15, 2007. Details are available now at http://www.ebay.com/jfkshirt. Ten percent of the final purchase price of the shirt will go to benefit Special Olympics.

For some time now, the custom-made shirt has been beautifully preserved under glass, protected from direct light. A white button-down dress shirt design, the collar label reads "Morgan & Ball (London) Ltd. 5354.55 Piccadilly London. W.I." plus the initials "J.F.K." all embroidered in red thread. The numbers "13293" are hand-stitched alongside, again in red. As noted, the third button from the top remains missing. Included with the garment is an original invitation to the inaugural event.

The shirt has been examined by experts who have deemed that it is genuine and one of the last remaining artifacts of the Kennedy legacy still available to private collectors. The garment is accompanied by Letters of Authenticity and Historical Provenance detailing custody through the current owner's acquisition and valuation of the shirt.

The current owner of the shirt stated, "I am especially pleased to honour President John F. Kennedy's legacy by supporting Special Olympics, an organization important to the Kennedy family and to me."

On behalf of Kompolt Online Auction Agency, Joey Leslie, Directory of Business Development remarked, "Kompolt is pleased to provide the services necessary to auction this unique and priceless piece of American history, and honored to support a cause inspired by President Kennedy's service."

Bidders will be pre-qualified through Kompolt, an on-line auction agency focused on creating successful high-value, high-profile promotional and charity auctions. For more information on Kompolt, please visit http://www.kompolt.com/.
