James R. Balkcom, Jr. Appointed to DataPath's Board of Directors

DULUTH, Ga., Nov. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- DataPath, Inc., a provider of satellite and wireless communications networks around the world, today announced that James R. Balkcom, Jr., has been appointed to its board of directors. Balkcom, currently the chairman of the board of advisors for Corporate Psychology Resources, a leadership consultancy, has more than 30 years of experience in corporate governance and finance. He also serves on the boards of directors of both iKobo, Inc., a leader in online money transfer, and eVault, Inc., a leader in secure online backup, and as Georgia's civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army.

Balkcom served as a consultant to Equifax and led that company's Personal Solutions business. He has also served as chairman of CommerceSouth, a $1.6 billion, publicly-held company, and as executive chairman of PAMECO Corporation, a $400 million distribution company that he helped take public. From 1977 to 1994, Balkcom was chief executive officer of Techsonic Industries, a leader in the marine electronics market with the popular Humminbird brand.

Balkcom graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and spent four years on active duty in the U.S. Army, including one year in South Vietnam. He holds an MBA in Finance from the Harvard Business School.
