FAIRFAX, Va., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Perot Systems Corporation (NYSE: PER) announced today that the General Services Administration Public Buildings Service (PBS) has selected the Plano, Texas-based company's government subsidiary to provide system maintenance, user and enhancement support for the Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) Library Project.
The five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract has an expected value of nearly $7 million and represents an extension of the relationship between the company and the agency. Perot Systems has been providing maintenance, systems upgrades and operations support for the CAD Library Project since October 2004, and during that time the company has worked with PBS to successfully reduce server use from 32 to 6, resulting in significant savings for taxpayers.
"Perot Systems is pleased to extend our relationship with PBS, and we look forward to working with the agency to improve their infrastructure," said Jim Ballard, president of Perot Systems Government Services. "We have been involved in many initiatives to help improve operations at PBS over the last two years and we are excited to have an opportunity to build on that success."
Under the new contract, Perot Systems will continue to run a variety of applications that assist GSA in managing architectural and engineering drawings along with geospatial and environmental data. In addition, the company will continue to provide hardware and software maintenance and data migration services.
