IBDNetwork Announces Under the Radar Enterprise Technology Event

Thirty-Two Next-Generation Enterprise Start-ups to Present

IBDNetwork Announces Under the Radar Enterprise Technology Event

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- IBDNetwork (International Business Development Network) announced today participants for its third one-day Under the Radar event. The event will feature 32 early stage companies within the enterprise technology space. Under the Radar will take place on November 16, 2005 at the Microsoft campus in Mountain View, CA. Sponsors of the Under the Radar event include Acteva, Comerica Bank (CMA), IBM (IBM), Intel Capital (INTC), LEWIS PR, Microsoft (MSFT), Mohler, Nixon & Williams, Perkins Coie, Salesramp, and Square 1 Bank.

Under the Radar will showcase young technology companies in eight emerging sectors within the enterprise space including: extrusion prevention, identity management, next-generation business intelligence, information lifecycle management, source-code analysis, second-generation RFID, data-center virtualization, and multi-platform productivity tools.

Under the Radar's signature format showcases four companies within a similar sector, with a hard-hitting Q&A from judges and audience members, highlighting growth opportunities and challenges within each sector.

Jeff Nolan of SAP Ventures said, "What I like about these Under the Radar events is that they go one level deeper than most venture related conferences and roundtables. I am more interested in learning about companies that are doing something productive to create client value than I am companies who are good at getting a lot of buzz."

All 32 companies selected have received less than two rounds of funding from prestigious VC firms such as Accel Partners, Kleiner Perkins, Intel Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, SAP Ventures, Partech International, Hummer Winblad, and Charles River Ventures and others have received corporate investment from companies such as Red Hat.

The 32 companies were handpicked from a pool of over 250 companies by IBDNetwork's editorial and research team. Companies selected to present were evaluated based on their robust technologies, market opportunity, and success in landing key customers and partnerships. At the close of the event, IBDNetwork will recognize four winners of the notable Under the Radar Innovation Award. "The Under the Radar event was a great opportunity for us," said Jim Behrens, CEO of Groundwork, a 2004 Innovation Award winner. "We were ecstatic not only to receive the Innovation Award from IBDNetwork but also to be voted a winner by such a highly respected panel of VC judges." Since Under the Radar's inception in 2003, over 150 start-ups have participated in the showcase and many have since received funding or have been acquired.

Under the Radar began as an evening networking event in April 2003. After 18 months of sold-out events, IBDNetwork, urged by the VC and M&A professionals in its network, created a full-day event: effectively a one-stop shop to evaluate and explore new business opportunities, partnerships, potential investments, and trends in several technology sectors. The 300-person audience is comprised of senior IT business executives, CEOs, venture capitalists, and corporate development executives tasked with increasing their companies' offerings and value.
