A simple process, bills of materials for any number of lines can be submitted using the BOM Upload feature on the home page at http://www.newarkinone.com/bom or by contacting 1.800.4.NEWARK. An Excel spreadsheet or the sample template may be used. It is critical that either the manufacturer or Newark InOne part number be included for each part. Upon receipt, a member of the Newark InOne 'Green Team' reviews and qualifies the BOM for service, and determines an update schedule with the customer. Updates are important, as new RoHS compliant parts are continually being added in the marketplace as the legislation's July 1, 2006 deadline approaches.

After the BOM is "scrubbed" against a product database of 4 million products, a Newark InOne quote is generated, which indicates whether the part is RoHS compliant, whether the manufacturer part number is changing, and the number of substitutes available. Substitutes are listed on a separate page in this order: exact RoHS matches, upgrades, and recommendations. Typically, the BOM is returned to the customer within 1 to 2 business days.
