  Notes of Interest:

The FaceBook.com (#14) makes its first-ever appearance on The Lycos 50 as the hottest destination online for college students. Would-be college graduates are flocking to the FaceBook in hopes of networking and staying in touch with fellow classmates. Search activity for the FaceBook has increased more than 260 percent over the past week. Also making her first-ever appearance on the list is Tom Cruise's newest girlfriend, actress Katie Holmes (#50). Holmes stars in the upcoming summer film, Batman Returns, hitting theaters on June 15. Although Cruise may have a bigger name offline, he has never been a huge hit online with web users. The only time Cruise ever came close to making The Lycos 50 was in Feb. 2001, following his divorce from actress Nicole Kidman.

Other Notes of Interest:

Searches for Pope Benedict XVI (#42) dipped drastically, falling from the number two spot on last week's list. Meanwhile, The Drudge Report (#45) re- enters this week's list due in part to the highly-anticipated upcoming special edition Prime Time Live report on American Idol (#5), airing Wednesday night on ABC. Drudge is reporting that Idol judge, Paula Abdul, was romantically involved with a former Idol contestant, and Drudge is now speculating on whether Abdul will be fired from the popular FOX show.
