SiRFstarIIe/LP & SiRFLoc

With over 10 million units shipped in last 2 years, the SiRFstarIIe/LP is the market leading GPS product line worldwide. Optimized for mainstream handheld devices, such as RIM's Blackberry platform, it integrates SiRF's powerful SiRFstarII GPS engine with an embedded ARM7TDMI microprocessor and memory to provide a compact solution. SiRF's sophisticated positioning engine provides outstanding navigation capabilities even in tough environments such as urban canyons and under foliage canopies. As a highly integrated and self-contained chip set, the SiRFstarIIe/LP is also well suited for use in stand-alone GPS modules and subsystems. The chip set includes SiRF's adaptive TricklePower(TM) advanced power management technology, which reduces power consumption without compromising performance.

SiRFLoc is SiRF's patented multimode architecture that supports both autonomous as well as aided GPS in mobile based and mobile assisted modes. Designed to enable full range of location enhanced applications, it also supports the FCC's E911 requirements.
