Hands on Disaster Response Assessment Team Busy With Multiple Relief Efforts

Local group assessing disaster areas while running volunteer relief project in Peru

CARLISLE, Mass., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Hands On Disaster Response (HODR), a volunteer-driven, 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, has been busy over the last three months continuing a major volunteer project in Pisco, Peru to provide relief for earthquake survivors while assessing several other disasters, including the California wildfires and the massive flooding in Tabasco, Mexico.

On November 29, a HODR team arrived in Dhaka, Bangladesh to assess the areas affected by Cyclone Sidr that slammed into the coastline of Bangladesh and worked its way north, killing over 3,500 and extensively damaging at over 1 million homes, businesses, and schools. The HODR team will coordinate with other NGO's while in Dhaka, then head down into the affected areas next week to determine if their volunteer resources can assist the approximately 8 million people affected by this storm. Please visit our website www.HODR.org for updates on this assessment.

Should HODR decide to deploy and coordinate a volunteer relief project, they will immediately begin accepting donations and volunteers. HODR relies on the support of donors to run successful relief projects and all funds donated to HODR go directly towards these efforts. Please give generously to support the volunteers and the people they assist. Anyone interested in making a tax-deductible donation can do so securely on their website www.HODR.org.
