2007 Fundraising for Easter Seals Brings All-Time Contributions by CENTURY 21(R) System to $95 Million Mark

CHICAGO, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- During a special presentation at the CENTURY 21 International Convention held this past weekend at the Gaylord Palms Resort Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., Easter Seals announced that 2007 contributions made by members of the CENTURY 21 System exceeded $3.8 million. Since 1979, the CENTURY 21 System has raised more than $95 million on behalf of Easter Seals and stands as the organization's all-time leading contributor.

"The frequently publicized challenges that the real estate industry faced in 2007 makes the work that the CENTURY 21 System was able to do on behalf of Easter Seals nothing less than amazing," said James E. Williams, Jr., president and chief executive officer, Easter Seals. During the presentation, Easter Seals honored the top fundraisers in the CENTURY 21 franchise network for 2007. In addition, the top fundraising companies in each of the 28 CENTURY 21 System regions in the United States were also recognized.

For the 13th consecutive year, CENTURY 21 Town and Country, headquartered in Rochester, Mich., was the top CENTURY 21 System Easter Seals contributor. Led by broker/owner John Kersten, the company raised $912,962 for Easter Seals Michigan in 2007, bringing the company's total contributions to more than $9 million since 1992.

With $229,056 in fundraising contributions, CENTURY 21 Judge Fite Company, based in Dallas, Texas, was the CENTURY 21 System's second largest fundraising entity in 2007. Led by broker/owner Jim Fite, CENTURY 21 Judge Fite Company has been an active supporter of Easter Seals North Texas for nine years.

Grand Forks, N.D., based CENTURY 21 Red River Realty earned the No. 3 position on the CENTURY 21 Easter Seals Top 21 fundraisers list in 2007, with $191,836 in contributions to Easter Seals Goodwill North Dakota. Jim Dunavan, broker/owner of the company, championed his team of sales professionals and staff to refurbish and rebuild dilapidated homes in the community and sell them to benefit Easter Seals.

In addition to recognizing and honoring its 2007 System-wide fundraising champions, the CENTURY 21 System announced a national $5 million fundraising challenge for 2008. If achieved, the CENTURY 21 System will exceed the $100 million dollar fundraising mark.
