Doug Eden Joins The Main Street America Group as Senior Vice President, Field Operations

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Main Street America Group announced today Doug Eden has joined the super regional property-casualty insurance carrier as senior vice president, field operations.

Eden will be a member of the company's senior management team based at its corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., and will report to chairman, president and chief executive officer Tom Van Berkel.

"Doug, who has an extensive background managing independent agent networks, will add great value to our organization as he develops and leads our customer relationship strategies, and will direct the management of our regional field operations," Van Berkel said.

Eden joins Main Street America from The Hanover Insurance Group Inc., Itasca, Ill., where he was regional president, Midwest. In this position, Eden was responsible for profit and loss results of Hanover's largest region, representing $1.1 billion of premium in personal lines, commercial lines, inland marine and bonds.

Prior to his tenure at Hanover, Eden was senior vice president - property and casualty distribution management at CNA Insurance Company, Chicago. His responsibilities there included overall management of CNA's independent agent and national broker strategies, as well as the company's compensation program, including commissions and profit sharing agreements.

Eden's extensive property-casualty industry experience also includes regional and business line management roles at Fireman's Fund. Eden began his career at USF&G Insurance, where he held a variety of management roles in several regional offices, including Jacksonville.

Eden earned a bachelor's degree in economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and has his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
