Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Hires Michael Yerington as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

PARSIPPANY, N.J., July 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. (NYSE: JTX) today announced the hiring of Michael Yerington as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Yerington will report to Michael Lister, Chairman, President and CEO.

Mr. Yerington brings over 30 years of experience in operations, product development, business growth and acquisitions. Formerly with First Data Corporation in Denver, Colorado, Yerington served as the company's President, Western Union Global Business Development, managing the profit and loss portfolio of business units that focused on commercial bill payment, transportation, gift cards, pre-paid services and mergers and acquisitions. Focused on growth and development, Yerington provided strategic and operational leadership to support and build business segments, as well as acquire new business to achieve outstanding growth. Prior to that assignment, Yerington served as President, Western Union North America where he focused on agent recruitment and development.

Over his career, Yerington has worked for more than 25 years in numerous senior level positions for First Data Corporation and its Western Union divisions in California, New Jersey and Colorado. He also spent several years at ITT World Communication, in New York and California, until the company was purchased by Western Union in 1988.

Yerington holds a Master of Management degree from Golden Gate University and a Bachelors degree in Business from the College of Notre Dame DeMur.
