American Tire Distributors Looks to the Future With Series of Promotions

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- American Tire Distributors Inc. has announced a number of key management promotions that underscore ATD's commitment to building a leadership team and positioning the company for continued growth.

Some of the promotions represent newly created positions reflecting a strategic realignment of the company's field sales structure increasing the number of regions from seven to nine. The change is intended to allow Regional Vice Presidents to focus on a smaller number of distribution centers and thereby increase the customer focus and support in each of the regions.

"I am very pleased to announce these well-deserved promotions," said Richard P. "Dick" Johnson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Tire Distributors. "Each and every one of these individuals personifies our commitment to serving our customers, and each of them has played an integral role in ATD's success through their personal drive to build the business."

American Tire Distributors promoted two individuals to the rank of Executive Vice President: Phil Marrett to the position of EVP Procurement, and Dan Brown to the position of EVP Sales. Marrett, with nearly 30 years of industry experience including twenty years with Dunlop Tire, will be responsible for the procurement process and supply chain management for all American Tire Distributors products.
