Art Basel-Inspired Artworks Unveiled at Grotto Hideaway

MIAMI, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Dade Heritage Trust, Miami-Dade County's largest historic preservation non-profit organization, and Urbaniza, a new model of urban real estate firm, today announced they will unveil artworks inspired by Art Basel Miami Beach at Dade Heritage Trust's holiday event, to be held at Coral Rock Village on Sunday, December 16.

The artworks were created by Lita Chow Yuen, the artist-in-residence at Coral Rock Village during Art Basel Week. Urbaniza sponsored Ms. Chow and created the artist-in-residence program to support the arts community and activity around Art Basel and enhance the architectural legacy at Coral Rock Village.

"My inspiration for the art was the massive scale of Art Basel and the cheerful, infectious Miami spirit," said Lita Chow Yuen, Belgian-born, Chinese artist. "Internationally, this is the most important art fair in the world and I wanted to honor founder Samuel Keller's final year leading the Fair, as well as welcome the incoming leaders Cay Sophie Rabinowitz, Annette Schönholzer and Marc Spiegler."

"The revitalization of Coral Rock Village is a delightful example of a developer's creativity in giving new life to older structures and saving historic buildings," said Becky Matkov, Executive Director of Dade Heritage Trust.

"Ms. Chow's art is an homage to the international character of Art Basel and fits the new urbanism of Coral Rock Village," said Gladys Margarita Diaz-Jourdain, an architect, educator, art supporter and founder of Urbaniza.
