FORT WORTH, Texas, April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines wants to know what pleases the appetites of its Economy Class travelers, so beginning today the airline is conducting buy-on-board food tests of new breakfast, lunch and snack items on domestic flights.

Throughout April, American will conduct three tests of buy-on-board food options.
-- TEST 1: Available for $5 on all flights three hours or longer and
departing before 10 a.m., customers will have the option to purchase
breakfast featuring Special K(R) cereal, 2 percent milk, fruit cup and
granola bar.
-- TEST 2: Available for $4 on flights departing after 10 a.m.,
customers will have the option to purchase a snack of raisins,
crackers, a cheese wedge and mixed nuts.
-- TEST 3: Available for $10 on afternoon transcontinental flights and
flights to and from Hawaii -- with the exception of Chicago (ORD) --
Honolulu (HNL) -- customers will have the option to purchase a fresh
Boar's Head(R) premium sandwich and a bag of Miss Vickie's(R) Original
Recipe chips. Rustica chicken and turkey and swiss will be available
depending on direction of travel.
-- A rustica chicken sandwich consisting of sliced Boar's Head(R)
Aroastica chicken breast, topped with Boar's Head(R) fontina
cheese, crisp green leaf lettuce, roma tomato, Hellmann's(R)
mayonnaise and Boar's Head(R) deli mustard served on fresh
wheatberry bread will be available on westbound
transcontinental flights departing from Boston (BOS), Newark
(EWR), Washington Dulles (IAD), New York John F. Kennedy
(JFK), Miami (MIA), and eastbound Hawaii flights departing
from Kahului, Maui (OGG).
-- A turkey and swiss sandwich consisting of Boar's Head(R) oven
gold breast of turkey, topped with Boar's Head(R) gold label
swiss cheese, crisp green leaf lettuce, roma tomato,
Hellmann's(R) mayonnaise, and Boar's Head(R) deli mustard
served on fresh wheat bread will be available on eastbound
transcontinental flights departing from Los Angeles (LAX),
Seattle (SEA) and San Francisco (SFO), as well as westbound
flights to Hawaii departing from Los Angeles (LAX), San
Francisco (SFO) and Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW ).

Food-for-sale items may vary on American Eagle and AmericanConnection flights.
