NMB Certifies Teamsters to Represent TradeWinds Airlines Crewmembers

93% Pro-IBT Vote Gives Teamsters the Mandate Necessary to Negotiate with TDX Management

HOUSTON, March 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In this week's IBT/TDX National Mediation Board (NMB) representation election, TradeWinds Airlines (TDX) crewmembers sent a resonating message to management -- 93 percent of the flight deck crewmembers voted to elect the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) Local 747 as their union representative. The votes were tallied and the certification made official by the NMB on Tuesday, March 11, 2008.

"TradeWinds crewmembers are long overdue for strong labor representation," said Local 747 President E.E. Sowell. "Basic issues such as crew safety and scheduling have been ignored for too long. IBT Local 747 is ready to begin negotiations with TDX management to bring the improvement in wages, working conditions and benefits that the pilots and the flight engineers merit."
