CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today John P. Jumper, recently retired Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, was elected to the Board of Directors of Goodrich Corporation (NYSE: GR) . Jumper was also appointed to serve on the board's Audit Review Committee and Financial Policy Committee. With this election, Goodrich's board increases to 11 members.
Jumper, 60, brings to Goodrich's board extensive experience in high level leadership roles gained during his distinguished 39-year military career which included domestic and overseas assignments. His range of experience includes service as the Deputy Director for Politico-Military Affairs, Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate, for the Joint Staff in Washington. Beginning in 1992 he held the post of Senior Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense and in 1997 became Commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Commander, Allied Air Forces Central Europe. From 2000 - 2001 he served as Commander, Headquarters Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force Base. General Jumper was appointed Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force in 2001 and retired in November of this year.

Jumper holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Military Institute. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Rolls- Royce North America as well as on the non-profit Boards of the Air Force Association and Air Force Village.
