Tom Van Daele Joins as Creative Director Among Raft of Hires

TBWA\Chiat\Day Staffs Up Creative Department

LOS ANGELES, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- TBWA\Chiat\Day today announced a raft of hires and moves in the Creative Department.

Tom Van Daele has joined the Los Angeles agency as Creative Director. Van Daele comes from Duval Guillaume New York where he successfully built the trans-Atlantic hub of Belgium's most significant advertising agency. At Duval Guillaume, Van Daele worked with clients including Bazooka Bubblegum, The Coca-Cola Company, ALESSI, Le Pain Quotidien and Lonsdale.

Prior to Duval Guillaume, Van Daele enjoyed stints in his native Belgium with independent agency, 10 Advertising, where he was Creative Director and Partner; LG&F Brussels and Ogilvy Mather. In addition, Van Daele founded the Miami Ad School Belgium and is the inspiration behind the worldwide young creatives database, http://www.newcreatives.com.

Joining Van Daele is Associate Creative Director, Brian Friedrich. Friedrich joins TBWA\Chiat\Day from Lowe, where he oversaw the Unilever accounts. He also worked at BBH where he was one of two teams that launched AXE bodyspray in the US, winning a Silver Lions at Cannes and a Golf EFFIE for the successful campaign. Friedrich started his advertising career at Goodby Silverstein and Partners.

Coming back to TBWA\Chiat\Day for the third time is Ken Pappanduros. After spending the last 12 months freelancing, he joins as Senior Copywriter on the Nissan team. Ken is a seasoned veteran of car advertising, having previously worked on Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda and Acura, in addition to financial brands, hotels, dog foods and other products. His first job in advertising was with Chiat\Day, joining in 1990 as a Media Assistant on Nissan. Additionally, Ken has spent time at Foote, Cone and Belding, TBWA\Chiat\Day San Francisco, Suissa Miller and Dailey & Associates.

Jason Busa has been appointed as Associate Creative Director on the Infiniti account, moving from TBWA\Media Arts Lab. Prior to TBWA\MAL, Busa was an ACD at Publicis and Hal Riney, San Francisco, and a Senior Art Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, San Francisco.
