More than $8 Million in Domain Names Sold At Moniker's T.R.A.F.F.I.C East Live Auction

POMPANO BEACH, Fla., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Moniker.com, the first and only provider of Domain Asset Management(TM) services, today announced that $8 million of premium domain names were purchased during Moniker's T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East Live Auction on Friday, October 12 at the Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, Fla.

In total, 141 domains offered for bid by Moniker were successfully sold, with the average domain selling for over $57,000. Individual investors and domain-focused companies purchased various premium domains, including:

Top-level domain extension .mobi had one of the strongest returns following .com domains. In total, 13 .mobi domains sold during the three hour event for a total of $500,000, three of which were in the top 15 sales of the evening. Poker.mobi becomes the highest selling .mobi domain of 2007 and second most expensive overall following Flowers.mobi which sold at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East 2006.

One of the most watched names of the auction, WallStreet.com, reached bidding of $3 million but failed to meet the necessary reserve between $4 million and $5 million to sell. WallStreet.com, along with 3,800 other premium domains including the other domains that failed to meet their reserves at the Live Auction, are now in Moniker's Silent Auction.

This is also the first time that a Moniker domain name auction had individuals participating from around the globe via telephone bidding. Individuals from the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Europe purchased some of the top-grossing domains at the auction.

Moniker also broadcast the entire auction live via streaming Web Cast. Over 450 individuals viewed the auction online while the event was held simultaneously in Miami, Fla.

The bidding is not over yet, as T.R.A.F.F.I.C. attendees and proxy bidders continue to bid on over 3,800 domain names during Moniker's online auction. The online auction will run until Thursday, October 18 at 2 pm ET and provides additional opportunities to purchase premium domain names strategic to overall portfolios.
